NUESTRA REALIDAD – OUR REALITY
Continuing its 50th anniversary celebration, Hooks-Epstein Galleries proudly presents a group exhibition featuring the work of our Latino artists. The exhibition, entitled Nuestra Realidad – Our Reality, will open on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with a reception for the artists from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Nuestra Realidad – Our Reality will feature work by Hooks Epstein Gallery’s Latino artists working in various media. Artists will include: Jose Chardiet, Desira Garcia, Marcos Hernandez, James Matheson, Stephanie Mercado, Lorena Morales, and Lauren Salazar.
Hooks-Epstein Galleries is a participating space for the 6th Biennial Latino Art Now! (LAN!) Conference. LAN! is a signature event of the Inter-University for Latino Research (IUPLR) consortium and hosted by the University of Houston Center for Mexican-American Studies (UH-CMAS), explores and celebrates Latino/a/x and Latin American visual artists in the United States while advancing awareness, education, scholarship and knowledge. Houston is the fifth US city to host the LAN! Conference: Sight Lines & Time Frames, which brings together artists, art historians, art professionals, curators, collectors, educators, scholars, critics, art dealers, and the public. The LAN! Conference is from April 4-6, 2019 at the University of Houston.
Nuestra Realidad – Our Reality will continue through May 11, 2019.
Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11:00AM to 5:00PM and by appointment.
