LOS ANGELES TIMES: DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS DIGITAL ALTAR
In honor of Día de los Muertos the Los Angeles Times staff created a virtual altar to honor those who have passed. Readers were asked to submit photos of loved ones and a short anecdote about the impact they had on their lives. The altar received more than 1,000 submissions on the first day. You may view the altar and read about the lives and contributions of the honorees here.
The Día de los Muertos page was created by Vanessa Martínez, Martina Ibáñez-Baldor and Fidel Martínez. Art direction by Martina Ibáñez-Baldor and web development by Vanessa Martínez.
Illustrations were created by Stephanie Mercado. Mercado also created a Día de los Muertos ofrenda coloring and collage activity available for download here.
Matt Ballinger, Karen Garcia, Claudia Núñez and Jessica Roy helped maintain and update the digital altar. Spanish translation by Alejandro Maciel and Claudia Núñez
